In most cases, the personal value of a pool all comes down to how often you’re going to use it and whether you can handle the maintenance. In-ground or above-ground?
Above-ground pools have become more popular in recent years because they are generally more affordable. An in-ground pool will cost you at least £20,000 to install, however you can buy and install above-ground pools for less than £5,000. In-ground pools are more attractive and will generally last longer, which is something to weigh up. You also have full freedom to customise an in-ground pool. Indoor or outdoor?

What size and shape?

What surface?
Above-ground pools are typically made from rigid wall, metal or inflatable plastic. In-ground pools can be made from concrete, vinyl, gunite, or fiberglass. Any other pool features?
Beyond installing a basic pool, you may want to consider what other features you want to add. Lighting around your pool could allow you to use it at night, while pool heating could keep the water warm in cooler temperatures (although this will come with higher running costs).
